Fresh rumours have emerged suggesting that Samsung is set to launch a 10.1-inch Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet on Sunday night.
Pocket-lint is reporting that the new device, which is yet to be given an official name, will take a bow at Samsung’s special event being held on the eve of this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Apparently, while the 10.1-inch device will feature a screen that’s bigger than the 9.7-inch iPad, it will be altogether smaller than Apple’s device and even lighter than the 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab. Despite such a slim frame, the new device will sport a dual-core Qualcomm processor (potentially the same 1.2GHz chip rumoured to be powering the Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone) and an 8-megapixel camera.
According to the source, Samsung’s new tablet will drop the Galaxy’s Tab’s two-tone look in favour of an all-black outer shell.
Tune in on Sunday evening, when we’ll be bringing you all the news from the expected Samsung announcement. It promises to be very exciting indeed.
