The official Nokia blog has posted sample photos taken with the Nokia N8′s 12-megapixel camera. They’re worth a closer look, so step in for the full gallery.
The Nokia N8′s 12-megapixel camera is a bit special. It features a larger sensor than any other mobile phone on the market, which should result in higher-quality photos. Nokia’s sample photos, claimed to be completely untouched — no editing at all once they’ve left the phone — demonstrate the phone’s ability to produce gorgeous shots in good light conditions. In the gallery, we’ve interspersed zoomed-out view shots with fully zoomed-in pics to show you the level of detail the Nokia N8′s camera is capable of.
As we always say when we see these immaculate sample photo galleries, we’d like to see how the Nokia N8 copes with dusk and night scenes, where the light conditions aren’t quite so fab. The combo of the large(r) sensor and focus on optical quality as well as megapixels of the Nokia N8 gives us confidence in the N8′s ability to pull a class-leading snapper out of the bag though.
