Samsung Galaxy S a huge hit, in South Korea
The Samsung Galaxy S Android phone has proved a massive hit in South Korea, where the veteran electronics manufacturer is based, selling 200,000 units in just 10 days.
These figures may not sound all that grand when compared to a North American smash hit — the iPhone 4 racked-up 1.7-million sales worldwide in just three days — but take into account that the iPhone 3GS has sold 800,000 units in total in South Korea since its release in 2009 and you start to see how impressive the Samsung Galaxy S’s performance is.
Samsung claims that the phone is better-suited to South Koreans than the iPhone series, thanks to its pre-loaded app roster, but the Samsung Galaxy S also seems very popular with UK mobile fans too, judging by the Fonehome readership. Roll on the Samsung Galaxy S2.
You can buy the 16GB edition of the Samsung Galaxy S exclusively from Vodafone now.
