Evening Standard mobile app unveiled
London’s Evening Standard has become the latest newspaper to jump on the mobile app bandwagon, touting a news add-on for a string of high-end phones. Live in the capital and what to know if your phone plays nice? Then read on and we’ll tell you just what’s what.
Rather than making an iPhone app and being done with, the Evening Standard has enlisted the help of devs Handmark to create an app for every top end blower. As well as Apple’s effort, there’s a version for Android, BlackBerry, Java and Windows Mobile.
The Java one is a particular winner, opening the news-based app up to a string of mid-range phones as well as top end smarties from the likes of Nokia.
The free app serves up the main headlines by category, including news, business, sport and showbiz. It costs nothing and you can nab it now by hitting up the link to Handmark’s site now.
