Android 2.2 has been confirmed for the Motorola Droid, the US version of the Motorola Milestone. It shouldn’t be too long until it reaches the Milestone too.
Now that we know quite how good Android 2.2 is, we’re looking out for all the phones that will be given an update. The latest one to add to the list is the Motorola Milestone.
Motorola has confirmed that it intends to release an Android 2.2 update for the Motorola Droid, the US version of our Motorola Milestone. Here’s the quote from a Motorola spokesperson —
“While I can’t comment on specifics, we do expect DROID by Motorola users will receive Android 2.2 as a software upgrade in the near future.”
As the differences between the two phones are minor, the Motorola Milestone update should hit our shores shortly after the Droid’s Android 2.2 update. We’ll be crossing our fingers, at any rate.
Android 2.2 adds several neat features to the Android pie, including installing apps to SD, integrated media streaming and a coating of greased lightning — early reports suggest that Android 2.2 is a lot quicker in operation than Android 2.1. We’ll let you know as we hear any more on Android 2.2 updates coming to other top Androids.
