HTC has pulled back from the brink of a deal to buy Palm. The Taiwanese titan had been keen to pick up Palm and bring its webOS to even more devices, but the dream is most definitely over. Read on for the details.
Speaking about the failure to reach an agreement, analyst Lu Chialin said, “It’s a good thing that HTC is dropping it because Palm has been losing money for a while now.”
HTC and Palm has not made any official comment yet but it seems the mobile maker didn’t want to compromise the success of its stellar new line up, including the HTC Legend and HTC Desire.
It’s a real blow for mobile fanatics though, who had hoped to see the awesome webOS land on phones other than the now ageing Pre and the still-to-be-released Pixi.
