LG LU2300 Android 2.1 phone officially announced
The Android 2.1 LG LU2300 phone has been announced on the official LG UK blog. LG calls it the “big brother” to the budget LG GW620.
The LG LU2300 features a slide-out Qwerty keyboard and a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen. This may sound like standard fare for a new Android phone, but the LG LU2300 boasts a few extra headline-grabbers that could worry Android big hitters like the HTC Desire.
Firstly, it offers native Divx support – a feature that’s missing from far too many Androids. The LG LU2300 is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor too, marking this phone out as a top-end contender. Other standard additions include the 5-megapixel camera and Wi-Fi connectivity.
At present, the LG LU2300 has only been confirmed for distribution in Korea, but why would the LG UK blog write about it if there was no chance of the phone reaching the UK? Take out the DMB TV tuner, which is more-or-less useless in the UK, and it’s ready to take on the Motorola Milestone and co..
We’ll be back with UK dates as they’re released.
