BlackBerry OS 6.0 screenshots leaked

Written by Andrew on March 19, 2010 – 1:00 pm View Comments

os6Screenshots of the new version 6 of the BlackBerry operating system have been leaked online – and show it’s quite a departure from its predecessor. These screenshots suggest that BlackBerrys will be doing the widget dance that most smartphone OSs are already catching the beat of. Both screenshots are of home screens, and show weather, news and sports results widgets.

What we’re keen to know next if whether we’ll be able to download additional user-made widgets from the BlackBerry App World, as you can do with an Android phone. This would make BlackBerrys much more flexible than they currently are – and add a few strings to the phones’ bows.

It’s rumoured that BlackBerry OS 6 will feature on the BlackBerry Talladega slider phone, but when that device is reportedly going to launch next month, isn’t that a tad soon? Either way, we’ll be hearing a lot more about BlackBerry OS 6 within the next month or so, so keep your eyes peeled for more updates here at Fonehome.
