An FCC filing has revealed that a new luxury phone is in the works – the Vertu Ascent X. Read on to find out more. Not much has been given away about the Vertu Ascent X in the FCC documentation but, as with any luxury phone, the finish is of top importance. Here, the report is more enligtening, saying “the model is available in a number of cosmetic finishes, where substituted on a like for like basis, Metal for Metal, RF Neutral/leather and cover materials for the same in a variety of colors and finishes (Mat/polished/color etc).”
So, the Vertu Ascent X phone is likely to be crafted out of metal and leather rather than the standard plastic, but then the outlandish is Vertu’s home ground. Its phones tend to cost thousands of pounds rather than hundreds, hewn from expensive materials, hopefully by well-paid hands.
The one feature that has been revealed in the FCC report is quad-band HSPA 800/850/1900/2100, which will come in handy for the jetsetter looking for a phone to match their jet/yacht/sportscar. The Vertu Ascent X will almost certainly sell for a four-figure sum.
