Vodafone to roll out Qik video service

Written by Andrew on February 23, 2010 – 1:50 pm Comment

qikVodafone and Qik have signed a deal that will see the carrier make the video service available to all customers with a compatible phone. Read on to find out more about Qik.

Qik is a video service that lets you stream video live from your mobile to social networks such as Twitter and Facebook. It’s intended to be dead simple to use too, with an easy record button all you need to worry about for the most part.

If you don’t want your mini epics to be seen by the public at large, you can make them private and send them to select lucky individuals – like a direct message on a social network. Qik is free to use too, which is always a bonus. Qik supports all sorts of smartphones, including BlackBerrys, Androids and the iPhone 3GS, and even some java handsets.

If you’re a Vodafone customer, just text “Qik” to 97886 to be sent a link to download the client.
