genio-slide-300x300The Samsung Genio Slide is built for social networkers. Whether you’re getting friendly on Facebook, tittering on Twitter or going music mad on MySpace, Samsung’s all-new basic blower has it covered. So if you want to know just how to get your social networking skills up to scratch on the Samsung Genio Slide, follow our guide and you’ll be haranguing your pals in no time…

Dive into the sidebar

The Samsung Genio Slide keeps all its important apps in a neat sidebar. When the slider’s shut it appears on the left of the panel. Slide it open and it shows up on the bottom of the screen. All you need to do to access it is tap the arrow on the touchscreen and you’re in.

Choose your social network
As the Samsung Genio Slide is already loaded with Twitter, MySpace and Facebook, you just need to scroll along the sidebar, choose the one you want, and give it a prod. You’ll then be prompted to add your log in details to which ever site you pick. If you’re not already registered, you can do that here too.

Use Wi-Fi where possible
The Samsung Genio Slide has HSDPA. but when you’re in a hotspot, make sure you hop onto Wi-Fi to ensure your comments, images and remarks get uploaded in lick spit time. You can do this through the settings menu.

Get nattering
The QWERTY keyboard on the Genio Slide is ideal for firing off tweets and status updates. Once you’re in, the UI of both Facebook and Twitter lets you duck into messages by just tapping on the empty space, where a cursor will appear, prompting you to gush about a new pair of shoes, or moan tiresomely about world events.

Bring Twitter and Facebook onto your home page
If you’re using social networks a lot on your Samsung Genio Slide, you may want to pull the widgets from the side bar onto the homescreen. This saves having to open it every time you’ve got something to say. Place your finger over the widget you want, tap it and then drag it onto the home screen. You can put it back into the side bar by doing the same thing in reverse.
