The Samsung M100 has broken ranks a full week before Mobile World Congress (MWC). The Korean giant has jumped the gun by formally announcing the MWC-bound M100s, a new Android-powered mobile positively dripping with the latest smartphone baubles.
The Samsung M100s – unlike forthcoming Motorola Devour – will be running the latest Android 2.1 version, albeit with Samsung’s own TouchWiz interface glued on top.
As with most of Sammy’s top-end phones, the display is an AMOLED panel at 3.7in across and with a 854×480 resolution. If that sounds impressive, you’ll be pleased to hear Sammy has shoehorned a TV tuner and 3.5mm headphone jack on board too, making the M100s a natural partner for mobile video.
And not just watching it, either. The M100s records footage at 720p along with taking pictures at 5MP, and the whole lot is powered by a beefy 800MHz processor. In terms of connectivity, Wi-Fi, HSDPA and GPS are the highlights.
The M100s is set to launch next month in Samsung‘s home market, with global roll-out to follow.
