The Sony Ericsson Vivaz – the successor to the Sony Ericsson Satio – has had its details leaked online. Read on for more details of the slightly oddly named, HD-shooting handset…
Known until now as the Sony Ericsson Kurara, we now know the follow-up to SE’s touchscreen debut will actually be called the Vivaz, thanks to an error-prone PR firm that accidentally made the Vivaz press release live before realising their mistake and yanking it back down again. Oops.
The new Sony Ericsson Vivaz’s details were around long enough for every last detail to emerge, however, complete with official pictures and even a video.
The most important detail of all is that the Vivaz will be shipping by March, with SE seemingly keen to move on from the Satio’s teething troubles as quickly as possible.
When it arrives the Vivaz will come with the same Symbian S60 5th edition mobile OS as the Satio, albeit running on a significantly sleeker, more sculpted handset.
And while its 8.1MP camera with LED flash has a lower resolution than the Satio’s, there is 720p video shooting to more than make up for it.
The screen is a 3.2in sharp WVGA affair, and the Vivaz also offers HSDPA internet, Wi-Fi, GPS and a TV-out connection.
Four colour choices will be available – silver, black, blue or ruby. Pricing and network availability will no doubt become available closer to launch time – unless they leak online by mistake, of course…
