The Google Nexus One looks as if it’ll be going official today, but the big news for UK tech heads is that it could be in your Android-loving fingers sooner than you think.
According to anonymous web pages leaked to Gizmodo, an unlocked version of the Nexus One will be available to buy from launch. Google will apparently ship up to five handsets per Google account, and as the Nexus One is unlocked and GSM, there’s no reason for it not to ship to countries outside of the US if you’re willing to shell out the $530 asking price.
The Google-made handset is set to make its first official appearance at a special Android press conference at Google’s Mountain View headquarters today at 10am Pacific Time (6pm GMT).
According to these documents, US customers are only being offered one price plan – a T-Mobile premium plan that brings the phone’ cost down to $180.
