Hold on to your brollies folks: the BlackBerry Storm is back with mark II, stuffed full of extra new goodies and rocking a new look slicker than Johnny Depp in a bath of WD-40. You’ve seen the hands-on Storm snaps, but you really want to see all those extra goodies in the BlackBerry Storm 2 in action. Watch us take you through them on film in our hands-on video of this spanking new mobile phone. Read on to see if the BlackBerry Storm 2 is the perfect storm we’ve been hoping for….
If we’re honest, the BlackBerry Storm 2′s retooled tech and look are more an upgrade than an overhaul. You’ve still got that serviceable 3.2-megapixel camera, 3G and GPS to guide you around, plus that familiar BlackBerry casing, sans the QWERTY keypad.
We’re loving the new material this BlackBerry is made of, mind, with polished metal and a smooth black finish all over, and the revamped SurePress screen tech which actually lets you push the screen down like a button to type. But it’s the Wi-Fi that smartphone surfing junkies will go wild for: now you can log on to your nearest hotspot and check the web, without worrying about signal strength – great news for any coffee shop addicts among you.
What keen-eyed observers will spot on top of that in our video too is just how much snappier the BlackBerry Storm 2 is over the original. We’ll be honest: as much as we liked what RIM tried to do with the first Storm, the buggy software was something of a wash out. No such worries here though, as scrolling and SurePressing your way around works perfectly.
Why just take our word for it though? A picture says 1,000 words, and a video much more, so treat your pupils with our hands-on video of the BlackBerry Storm 2 in action right here. Just give the play button a pop and sit back for the tour.
